LIMELIGHT 2: NEW WORKS

THE HISTORY OF NEW WORKS

With a focus on creating products that are different and that attract attention, New Works has designed many gems since their inception in 2011. The design philosophy is quite clear - New Works wants to create products that can stand strong alone, while they can be part of a product family and thus create a common thread through New Works' unique collections. In each collection, great emphasis has been placed on materials and sculpture. Many of New Works' lamps are inspired by natural materials, giving the lamps a natural life and a different expression. New Works is a brand that manages to create sculptural forms, while maintaining an elegance.

New Works is based on four core values:

  • Natural - to maintain the natural quality of the material.
  • Experimental - to work with various designers who combine new material and textures.
  • Tactile – the preservation of the original texture of the material creates character and adds something special to the product
  • Craftsmanship – high quality and strong craftsmanship characterize the products, where experiments are carried out with techniques to push the boundaries of material and form.

KIZU - THE KISS

This series of table lamps is a unique collection from New Works and has become one of their icon products. The very special sculptural form creates a weightlessness in the balance point between the base and the shade which lightly touch like a kiss. Kizu means kissing in Japanese, which is also how this artistic table lamp got its name. The Kizu table lamp illustrates the thinness, creating a tension in the designer lamp, where its curved shapes provide a soothing effect. The Kizu table lamp is created in perfect harmony.

The New Works table lamp from the Kizu collection is available in a large and small version, and is produced in black and white marble. All shapes and colors can be seen here .

THE SLEEK LANTERNE

With inspiration from the iconic Chinese rice paper lamps, New Works has created the series Lanterne. This collection is a mixture of old shapes combined with brand new materials. The frosted glass shade is the reason behind the peaceful light eminating from the lamp. In combination with the designer lamp's round shapes, the Lanterne lamp adds a comfortable look to any room. Simplicity is especially the hallmark of this series of lamps.

The New Works lantern lamps consist of a large family of designer lamps. The collection consists of both a large and small table lamp, a floor lamp and a pendant.
