Quick Fix Guide
There’s no light in my lamp?
There can be multiple reasons for your lamp not working. Before contacting our Claims Department, try out these easy quick-fixes and solve the problem yourself! In most cases, issues can be resolved with a little technical sleight of hand.
1. Check the arms inside the lamp socket
If your lamp is not lighting up, it might be because the bottom of the bulb is not connecting with your socket. The electrical arms inside the socket, may have been squished during production and therefore, will need straightening. You can easily straighten the arms with a screwdriver and flip them upwards, so the bulb will have contact with both the sides and the bottom of the socket. If your lamp is working correctly, this will solve the issue and it should turn on. If not, move on to step 2.
2. Check the socket with a pole indicator
To check if the electrical current is moving through the socket, you can use a pole indicator. A pole indicator is a small tool, that tests whether the current is actually getting through the socket, when the lamp is plugged in.
You place the pole indicator on the metal arms inside the socket and place your finger on top. If the indicator lights up, the power is moving through the socket and the lamp is working correctly - if so, the issue might be with the lightbulb you are using and you should test with another light source, before making a claim. If the indicator does not light up, the current is not reaching the socket. In this case, you should make a claim, so we can replace the lamp.
My lamp is flickering?
If your lamp is flickering, it might be a clue that you are using the wrong lightbulb. If the lamp is only flickering, when you are turning the dimmer, it can either be an issue with the lightbulb or the dimmer itself.
-
Check again, the recommended light source for the lamp and make sure that you are using the correct one. Some lamps will include an overview of approved and recommended light sources. If the bulb is flickering, you should always try with a recommended light bulb, with the correct Wattage.
-
When trying off the recommended bulb, check if it flickers without any adjustment or if it is just when you are dimming the lamp. If the lamp only flickers, when you are turning the dimmer, it might be a fault on the integrated dimmer. In this case, you should make a claim. If you can live with a little flickering, when dimming, we can offer you a reduction in price.
I can't adjust the joints on my architectural lamp?
If your adjustable lamp is not staying in the set position, you can usually tighten the joints easily, so the lamp can be fixated again. On most of these lamps, you can tighten the joints by using a small Allen key or a screwdriver. On some models, you can tighten the cap around the ball bearing, in order to tighten the joints.
My lamp is dimmable, but i cannot dim the lights?
If your lamp is not reacting, when you turn the dimmer switch, it is most likely because you are using a non-dimmable bulb or a bulb without the right wattage corresponding with the dimmer. Check if you have the right light source, by visiting the Product Page at Andlight. Try again with a recommended bulb and make sure that you have the correct wattage and that the bulb is dimmable. If the lamp is made for LED bulbs, always use an LED bulb.
