Design: Christian Dell for Fritz Hansen. Concept: The
Kaiser Idell-series is the epitome of class and timelessness. With its original Bauhaus-design the Kaiser Idell lamps are centered around the universally patented ball-and-socket joint (1930) as well as the characteristic shade that bears the striking ‘ORIGINAL KAISER-IDELL’ engraving – features that all add to that special Kaiser Idell look and feel.
All the Kaiser Idell lamps are produced in steel and brass while the shades are lacquered with either a glossy or mat paint. Every chromium-plated part of the lamp is made from hand-polished and silver solded brass.
The series consist of two different table lamps, two floor lamp versions, a pendant, and a wall lamp. All the models are available in mat black, glossy black, and white while some models also come in dark green and red.
Christian Dell (1893-1974) designed what turned out to be the first Kaiser Idell lamps in 1926, but it was not until 1936 that the series was launched and production started. One of the best known Kaiser Idell designs is the 6631 Luxury model; this table lamp embodies Germanic design, German quality, and unfailing engineering
