Design: Marcel Gascoin, 1947
Concept : inspired by the original Marcel Gascoin C-Chair, this dining chair from GUBI is a bold statement of post-war convenience and comfort. The soft curve of the backrest gently intersects the graceful lines of the wooden chair to create a silhouette that is at once futuristic and timeless. Originally created out of necessity to fit into the new sizes of houses built at the end of World War II, Gascoin compensated for the lack of space by creating a simple, functional design.
GUBI's outdoor version of the C-Chair is a reimagining of the stunning design. In this outdoor version, the classic silhouette is crafted from durable and naturally durable teak, weather-resistant HDPE wicker and stainless steel screws, ensuring a long life and an extremely durable choice of materials. By constantly reinventing this model and products in new areas, GUBI strives to maintain its ability to surprise and delight. Today, the chair lives on as a design icon, known for its simple construction and refined aesthetics.
