The original Crate Collection was designed by Dutch architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld in 1934 with the aim of using surplus wooden shipping containers. Now the collection has been relaunched in a collaboration between Rietveld Originals and HAY. Respectful of the original design, the Crate Dining Table shares the same precisely balanced proportions and transparent construction to minimize production costs and optimize the assembly process. The table is available in two different lengths, with a rectangular table top and diagonal crossbars. The table's simplicity and spacious design reflect the designer's architectural principles, offering functionality and comfort without taking up unnecessary space. The Crate Dining Table is made of solid pine with a water-based lacquer in various color choices and is suitable for a wide range of outdoor settings.
