The Tom Dixon's Etch series is inspired by the logic of mathematics. The lamps are inspired by geodesy, which is the science of earth observation. The structure consists of sections that are 0.4 mm perforated metal plates.
The lamp is a prismatic pendant. The small, thin metal plates are laser cut to achieve their thinness. When the lamp is turned on, an amazing shadow game will appear. The Etch lamp is available in copper, brass, stainless steel, or black paint. The Etch Web Light in this series has a very open structure and sheds many beautiful shadows when it is turned on. This lamp is another of Tom Dixon's attempts to create a geometric irregular pentagon - it consists of no less than 60 edges. It is made of stainless steel and with its polished finish, it has a nice shine.
