It is essential to avoid greasy fingers and scratches on the acrylic screen that the supplied gloves are used when assembling and hanging the lamp. With more than 40 years behind it, the Globe is one of the most iconic pendant lamps, and definitely one of Panton's most recognizable designs worldwide. Globe is with its futuristic and voluminous, but extremely elegant appearance, ideal both in the long hallway, in the office or over the dining table. The transparent acrylic screen beautifully embraces the "floating" 5 split sculptural reflector, which softly scatter the light around the lamp. Experience the Globe series in the two well-known versions, with a reflector in hand-polished aluminum or opal glass. Reflector in aluminum is alternately lacquered on the inside in blue, orange and white. Reflector in opal glass, comes with the upper chrome-plated on the inside, for the best possible scattering of light. Both are available in sizes 40cm or 50cm in diameter, respectively. As something completely new, the Globe is produced in a version with a reflector in an exclusive brass finish. This edition is not part of the original expression, but is the producer Verpan's tribute, to iconic Verner Panton. The model with brass finish, has an absolutely fantastic unique expression and creates a nice warm light wherever it is hung up. The Brass version is produced in a limited number, but can of course be purchased from AndLight. Each original Verner Panton Globe pendant is numbered and comes with a certificate as proof of its authenticity.
About the designer: "You sit better on a color that you like" - Verner Panton. The Danish designer Verner Panton(1926-1998), was a leading and significant part of Danish furniture design's absolute heyday. Panton had close relationships with both Arne Jacobsen, Hans J. Wegner and Poul Henningsen, whose expression and idiom are known and loved by people all over the world. Despite Verner Panton being part of Danish furniture design's important mid-century, his expression and design philosophy were far from the simple, his Danish and Scandinavian colleagues practiced. His expression was provocative, playful, futuristic but also full of personality. The passion to explore the possibilities of unconventional types of materials and flashy colors was an essential part of the DNA of many of his sculptural works. Verner Panton's many iconic and playful expression are today still extremely popular in Danish as well as foreign homes.
