Vitra Akari 26A Pendant

Just like 2019, 2020 has been a fantastic year for Swiss Vitra . Their Japanese series Akari has really broken through this year and many have surrendered to the revived rice paper trend. Specifically the simple and beautiful 26A pendant .

The series was created by the Japanese-American designer Isamu Noguchi in 1951. The name Akari is translated as "light" - both meaning "lighting" and "something light". The lamps are produced by hand, using traditional techniques in the family-owned Ozeki workshop based in Gifu, Japan.

The lamp is made up of bamboo sticks that are coated with traditional Washi paper made from the bark of mulberry trees. The entire Akari series is marked with a signature of Noguchi as well as a sun and moon symbol in red.

The pendant is available in 3 sizes, of which 26A is the smallest. It should also be mentioned that the the floor lamp 10A in the same series, has also gained incredible popularity in 2019.

N304 is the classic and small wall lamp from Lampe Gras . This is the bathroom version that is IP65 certified and therefore suitable for use in wet rooms. Therefore, this lamp can withstand both water and steam and will not be damaged by many years in the bathroom.

The iconic design dates back to 1921 and was designed by Bernard-Albin Gras in France. The lamps are characterized by the fact that they have neither screws nor welds, which makes the design incredibly aesthetic and clean. One of our most popular lamps in 2020 is the iconic TR7 pendant from Tom Rossau.
